MOKA Coffeshop
Redefining Industrialism through Adaptive Reuse.
MOKA Coffeeshop is a testament to the power of adaptive reuse architecture. Positioned near the Petronas Carigali Fabrication Yard, in Kiyanly, Turkmenbashi, this unique establishment serves as a recreational oasis for hardworkers.
Constructed entirely from leftover industrial materials, like shipping containers, plywood, pipes, and rebars, the coffeeshop embraces the inherent character of its surroundings. The loft-inspired design seamlessly blends the raw, industrial aesthetic with a warm and inviting atmosphere, creating a harmonious juxtaposition.
Location of the coffeeshop, with its proximity to the adjacent football pitch, allows for a dynamic integration of the game into the overall experience. Large windows facing the pitch establish a visual connection, fostering a sense of community and engagement among the patrons.
By repurposing discarded materials, the project not only reduces waste but also celebrates the industrial heritage of the region. The MOKA Coffeeshop stands as a shining example of how innovative design can breathe new life into underutilized resources, transforming them into a vibrant and functional space that caters to the needs of the local community.
Through this adaptive reuse approach, the MOKA Coffeeshop redefines the traditional notion of a coffeeshop, creating a multifunctional hub that promotes sustainability, social interaction, and the pursuit of leisure activities within an industrial context.Azat SaryOraz AnnayevDesign Team.
